Congress Destroys Jobs, Economy

The inability of Congress to accomplish anything useful—even in the face of a federal government shutdown and an impending default on our country’s debt—has so far cost the U.S. economy about $20 billion in gross domestic product, according to Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics.

Worse still, while members of Congress continue their shenanigans, honest, (ordinarily) hard-working Americans are beginning to suffer the consequences. CNN shares some of their stories.

Contact your elected representatives (once they get back to work, that is) and let them know how you feel about this truly shameful situation. And the next time you head to the polls, remember that you have the power to put them out of work—just as they’ve done to so many good people!
